Taxi market regulation in Moscow
Moscow authorities prepared draft amendments that fix maximum price on the taxi tariffs in Moscow. The document will help to put in order the market, provide better availability of taxis and avoid overpricing. In 2012, a concept with sample rates was developed, but the prices were not approved.
Moscow authorities allowed taking bikes on the land transport
Moscow Government representatives declared that bicycles can be taken on the land transport, but only through the back door and after the passengers alight. Bikes can be placed in the back of bus, trolley or tram. Bringing it on the public transport is still prohibited on rush hours or on specific routes.
Moscow tourist police will protect visitors
This summer new Russian police unit will appear on the streets of Moscow. Tourist police will protect visitors and provide them information on security and travel. Staff training will have been finished by June. Law enforcement officers will be able to speak English and communicate with tourists.
