Kazan is the cultural capital of Turkic world

2014 is declared to be a year of Kazan being the cultural capital of the Turkic world. The international organization TURKSOI announced it in 2009.

The celebration of the year of Turkic culture the capital of the republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) is starting 26th of April — the day, when a famous Tatar poet Gabdulla Tuqay was born.
